Photoshoot in downtown Houston. Streetstyle is personally one of my favorites because it allows me to fully express myself and my creative visions. I took inspiration for the name of this shoot, “Illustrating Out Loud,” from the image shown in the cover. Sometimes, I find it easier to not have a set idea in mind when taking pictures so I can just go along with my creative incentive. For the production and post production, I always start off thinking it’s going to turn out a certain way and once I open the image on photoshop, I take a different creative route. For the picture shown in the cover of this shoot, I actually did some photoshop manipulation and replaced a blue boring sky with a cotton candy like sky to bring more life and contrast to the picture. I randomly started drawing crayon outlines and really liked the final result. Click this to see a before and after. Had I gone with my original plan, I don’t think I would’ve enjoyed the process as much. I was really pleased with how this turned out. The crayon can symbolize so many things and many people can interpret it differently, I see it as the aura visualized in my model, Jadon Johnson.
